John P. A. Budreski
John P. A. Budreski has spent more than 50 years working across a wide range of industries (with a focus on natural resources) and capital markets. Starting out as a summer laborer for a landscape maintenance and construction firm, he concurrently completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Distinction) degree and latterly completed Master of Business Administration degree. His first professional job as a petroleum engineer in northern Alberta began a winding climb that took him through energy, mining, gold, and royalty companies including the role of CEO’s to a financial services company. Since that role, he has held two additional CEO roles.
John has been active in a variety of outbound contribution-type roles. He is the founding Trustee and growth leader of his family’s educational charity. With two of his employers, he more than doubled employee contributions to national charities. John has/is acted as Director for over a dozen LLPs and public companies, ranging is size from $3 million to $3 Billion, also acting as Chairman for three of these. He was also a Director of Canada’s women’s campaign to participate in the inaugural women’s division of the 2024 America’s Cup.
He is a fixer of broken things, an accelerator of plodding things and has a keen eye for hard to spot opportunities or challenges. John is a deep subscriber to the partnership and relationship cultures. To him, those with less deserve more of his time than those with more.
John has lived in eight cities and traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. He has visited all seven continents and experienced or worked in 21 countries. He has racked up over two million flying miles.
An ocean sailor, skier and snowboarder, Fondo cyclist, and all-out velocity hound, he is married with two sons. With a lasting love of salt water, he spends most of his free time near, on, or in the ocean.
